Latest update: Earn real money for high-quality posts
To incentivize more and better posts, Reddit is starting a contributor program to reward content creators with real money. To monetize their posts, users need to be over 18 years old and possess an account for over 30 days. Identity verification via Persona and Stripe is also required. The amount of money earned through the post will be determined by its Reddit karma: from 100 to 4999 karma, users earn $0.90 per gold; more than 5000 karma means $1 per gold. Users need to earn at least ten gold to be able to withdraw money. Users can also buy gold directly to award other content creators, prices start at $1.99 for one gold. For now, this program is only available for users in the United States.
